In the Video Art Workshop an introduction to video art will be made under the context of “contemporary art” and “nonlinear editing techniques”. The workshop will be on both theoretical and practical levels. In this workshop, participants will not only be introduced to the practical information on video production, but will also have the opportunity to actually create one.Each participant will develop a project for the workshop period and realize this with his/her friends by helping each other’s works. A professional technical team, expert in computers and digital video, will give assistance in all phases and also editing. The videos made in the workshop will be shown on a screening event in which everybody will participate. (Adobe Premier, and Final Cut Pro will be covered during the workshop)

Videos produced by Genco Gülan have been exhibited in ; 2001, Gallery X, Harlem, New York; 2000, Mediaterra, Atina, Greece;1997, Steirishes Herbst, Graz; Austria; 1996, AKM, Istanbul.

John Plenge has produced videos in  America, Japan and India. John Plenge and Genco Gülan have been working together since 1998.

The workshops will be held in English and Turkish on PC and Mac computers. Participation is limited to 12 persons.There will also be a scholarship given to one of the participants. The skin diving sessions are free for the participants of the digital workshops. Those participating in all of the A or B series will receive a 30% discount for the workshops. All participants will receive a certificate at the end of the workshop.

Gumusluk Academy also has housing facilities for 17.50 US$– full pension, including bed, breakfast and lunch.
