Aysim Turkmen -sociologist, performer, aspired film maker. just finished MA in Near Eastern Studies Department of NYU. Currently studying film at New School University. a diverse person who is brave enough to write her thesis on Turkey's most debated religious leader; Fethullah Gulen.

Lisa Pasold -poet, adventurer, itinerant. performs poetry. lives in France, originally from Canada. last seen in New York's La Mama where she met the editors over a casual conversation about a certain t-shirt.

Tim Hailey -artist, curator and motorcycle and racing addict from New Orleans. loves to read Orhan Pamuk. works as a co-curator in Here Arts, NY. just moved to New York. says the bottled water here is very expensive. his works combine a sense of humor, racing and a strong artistic background.


Mehmet Sinan -fictitious character. assumes no responsibility of the implications of his name. aspires to combine the great wisdom of the Ottoman Architect Sinan and the courageous soul of Mehmet the Conqueror.

Genco Gulan -the man behind all this and the museum. artist/writer/politician/web designer//social scientist. hates to plan his life. currently writing for the New York Arts Magazine, finishing his thesis on 'digital revolution', looking after his new born son, Sinan Can, supporting his wife on her theater projects, working as a free lance web designer, running ISCAM and exhibiting works in various exhibitions.

Yesim Ozsoy -editor and ultimate web designer substitute of Dergi. performer/writer/director/producer/editor/translator/new mother. survived through writing, directing and producing a full length play in New York.still searching for her own true style of writing. loves and hates New York. wishes to continue publishing Dergi as she's sipping her tea in a cafe overlooking a boat in Bosphorous.

HIP HOP NATION Aysim Turkmen discusses the first Hip Hop exhibition at the Brooklyn Arts Museum.

Social Disturbance : This is an interpretation on John Plenge' s public performance in a Starbucks cafe. The performance involved underlining the extensive usage of electronic equipment in public.

in Transit Lisa Pasold's poem deals with the concept of nationality and the sense belonging as she skillfully uses the tools of the web in favor of her 'web literature.'

Time and its Objects:
   A theoretical meditation on the Concept of Time. Time as a social construct through an analysis of a mentally disabled sister and the writer's own experience.
